I found this book doing the one thing you're not suppose to do with books, I was judging by the cover. I hate to sound nit-picky or stuck-up, but I just have to be honest. Sam's Letters to Jennifer is heartwarming and bittersweet. The grandmother, sam, has left her letters in order to let her understand things in her life that no one else has. This book revives memories for me of my own past, and my own relationship with my grandmother. My problem with it is that the author glamorized the relationship, like she was to be admired because she didn't leave her husband. It might come with an unbearable cost - but her grandmother's letters make Jennifer think that love may help her find a way. Sigh.
