This is useful if you only want the Boston changes with none of the FH/NW dlc changes (This is a re-upload, since i accidentally deleted the old one)For Users with NO Automatron DLC. I believe because with each iteration they release they pile on so much new code the engine has just become convoluted. Broken recombination is what gives us a huge drop in FPS in many places and this is especially evident in Boston. Which is sad, because I have a Titan X. The only real way to fix is to wait for bethesda to optimize their game in these areas, GPU driver optimisations will not do anything since it is a CPU bottleneck. What would cause this? Have you seen something suspicious within a federal building?
As it stands I have to runt he game on medium to get an acceptable 60 fps in all situations. Only way to fix it now is to overclock CPU, or lower shadow distance. There is also a dynamic shadow mod that lowers the shadow draw distance on the fly when FPS drop, it takes a couple of seconds and the fps shoots up the when you leave the area it puts the draw distance back to where it was. Each iteration of the engine they modify for their new game it just gets worse. This mod completely restores all cells of the Commonwealth.
