Today, Snow White appears once in the attraction. When the Witch offered guests the poisoned apple in one scene, guests frequently tried (and sometimes managed) to steal the apple and bring it home as a souvenir. Tony Baxter, Sr. VP of Creative Development at Disney Imagineering, was so afraid of messing up that he requested all dark rides be 25% longer allowing that even if they weren’t better, they’d at least be longer. Then, after escaping the castle, the vehicles wind through a dark forest filled with living trees, before finally reaching the dwarfs' cottage, with the Witch standing in the doorway to offer the guests her apple.

Ken was a 1991 winner of the Disney Legends award for Animation & Imagineering. You'll note that at this point in the attraction's history, Snow White herself is nowhere to be found. Upon entering, with the queen watching in a nearby window, the guests saw a mirror, but not the magic one. After passing by a forest full of Snow White's animal friends, the guests would approach a fork in the road, with arrows pointing to the dwarfs' cottage or the Wicked Witch's Castle, the vehicles would turn in the direction of the castle, with two vultures ominously perched on a tree near it. When Fantasyland was reopened in The original Disneyland version is noted for not featuring Snow White at all (with the intention being that the riders The ride vehicles then entered the forest, where various animals were seen watching the riders. Bats fly everywhere and logs resemble snapping crocodiles. The words at the bottom of this picture read, "And they lived happily ever after." He also worked on the development of Disneyland. Riders then exited the castle and continued through the dark forest, where the trees have faces and arms while the logs look like crocodiles. A two-way sign was then seen, pointing to the Dwarfs' cottage in one direction and the Witch's castle in the other direction.

During 1983, all of the Fantasyland dark rides were redesigned slightly to include the main characters of the films the attractions represented. The ride vehicles then returned to the Dwarfs' cottage, where the door suddenly swung open, revealing the Witch, who would offer the guests the apple for a final time. Here, trees have ugly faces and branches like talons or grasping hands. On the way out, the Witch was waiting at a window with the apple, sliding into view on the top half of the door similar to in the movie. Not long after, this change was undone as the scenes depicting the witch still proved to be quite scary for little ones.On May 31, 2012, the final ride through Snow White’s scary world took place to make way for a new Princess meet and greet location.

It was reacting to the witch, who was then seen at the cauldron around the corner. For the original 1955 version of the attraction, titled Snow White and Her Adventures, it was intended for park guests to experience Snow White's story through her point of view, which is why she herself wasn't in her own attraction (although a figure of her was added to the ride for a brief period in the 1970s).

There were also seven witch figures in this version, whereas there were only six in the 1994 version. After guests board the vehicles, they enter the Dwarfs' cottage.

Though a sister attraction of the Disneyland version, Walt Disney World’s ride was quite different and to some, much more fitting of the “Scary” title. In the original ride, guests played the role of Snow White so she was not included in the attraction. Upon entering the dark cave, the guests would hear the Witch meeting her demise before returning to the boarding area and exiting the attraction. Upon entering, the guests saw a mirror, but not the magic one.

Previous reports have claimed that Snow was not added until 1983, however, photographic evidence shown below from August 1972 proves differently. The riders "crashed" through the dungeon walls and escaped through the dark forest, bumping into the witch on her boat along the way. When the attraction was rebuilt for new Fantasyland, it was renamed Snow White’s Scary Adventures, opening on May 25, 1983. In Disney World, Snow White’s Scary Adventures was an original Magic Kingdom attraction that opened along with the park on Oct 1, 1971 and it took riders through the dark for the next 41 years.
